SINGING WINDS
The highest aim of art is an interpretation rather than realism.
Of course, one must present truth, but the highest is interpretation.
–T.C. Steele
I enjoy the rustic beauty of the picturesque landscape of T.C. Steele's
estate and charming home, House of Singing Winds.
Drawn in by the softly singing 'glad you are here.' The land whispers to me ancient stories of
the Hoosier Group Painters and reminds me of a visit during a past life.
Walking the paths, smelling the warm sun hitting Selma's fragrant flower gardens,
and visualizing the past through the eyes of this artist.
Always moved by the expression of Steele's philosophy
combining nature with daily life. In this painting I found enjoyment and inspiration
combining the lush coloration with rather dramatic darks.
