Dillman's Art Workshop Retreat
has added a second back-to-back workshop this year.
I have good news and bad news – like the headline says Dillman's has asked me to create a second watercolor workshop for 2022. This new workshop is called WATERFALLS, RIVERS & RAPIDS IN WATERCOLOR. So get ready to be wet and wild, painting the rapids and waterfalls of Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
|
The sad news is that my WATERCOLOR IMPRESSIONS OF THE GREAT NORTHWOODS. has sold-out. Dilman's has a wait list incase there are cancellations.

"I just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed your watercolor workshop this weekend in Fish Creek, WI. I learned a lot and appreciated your personable and easy-going style. I also was impressed with the way your critiqued our work, constructive and encouraging. It really helped me to think of ways I can improve my landscape painting."

"I attended one of Dale Popovich's one-day watercolor workshop sponsored by the Bloomington Watercolor Society. I learned how to really loosen up – fantastic experience. The class really push me to try some new things in new ways. I learned a lot about reflections during this workshop. You are a patient and engaging teacher. I wish we had another day. Thank you so very much, Dale!"

FACEBOOK LIVE FREE DEMO
Join me on Saturday June 12th for a demo sponsored by Dillman's Art Workshop Retreat
April 24, 2021
Will flipping your subject matter make a more interesting composition? Absolutely!
This demonstration is based on a photograph I took last autumn driving down a dirt road not far from Dillman's in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin. What I want to convey in this demonstration is do not to make yourself a slave to the photograph. Always remember you are painting a painting and not a photograph. Allow yourself a little freedom in your creative process. I will be showing you:
• How to build your painting from background to foreground.
• Painting large areas to small areas.
• Working light to dark.
• Working more intense color at the beginning, and slowly graying down your color as you bring the painting to finish.
My Dillman’s Workshop will cover all four seasons of the Northwoods – land and water, trees and rocks, and all of nature's beautiful relationships..
