Had a great time at the Arlington Heights Art Guild. on Thursday night. Founded more than 40 years ago, the Arlington Heights Art Guild today has more than 100 members who meet to learn and share their interest in various forms of art. The organization draws from various surrounding communities in addition to the Arlington Heights base.
A landscape scene was demostrated using a full color palette:
Discusion included:
I had to laugh when I told the group that I've owned and used my 1" flat real hair brush for 40 years – They gasped! I told them if you buy real hair, purchase the best brushes you can afford, and take good care of them they will last a lifetime. Real hair brushes load better than synthetic. This is very important to the sucess of a great painting. If you can't afford a real hair brush a real hair/synthetic blend is the next best thing. Watercolor study was completed in about an hour and was donated to the Guild's raffle for their spring scholarship fund. Thank you for the warm response and great turnout.
