In this YouTube watercolor video demonstration, I am going to share with you how easy it is to draw up your pencil on watercolor paper. I am not a fan of graphite paper because it is messy. Instead, a 2B pencil and a kneaded eraser are all you need. Here's a link to my full supply list – go to bit.ly/watercolor-supplies

I spent a Friday evening with the Town & Country Art League taking them through a lecture on basic drawing and value which is the core of any solid 2-dimensional art. I first explained the importance of linear perspective. Using a simple cube, showing the difference between 1-point and 2-point perspective along with demonstrating how to establish the eye level line which is #1 in importance. How to turn form is understanding the highlight, light, midtown, core shadow, shadow, and reflective light. Then an explanation on cast shadows followed and how to perceive them. I wrapped up the two-hour lecture/discussion with a small watercolor demo implementing the elements covered in the earlier part of the lecture. The entire group stayed for the full lecture which I was told had never happened before. Thank you Town & Country Art League for a great evening.
